Not my usual cheesy post - but more important.....

Not my usual cheesy post - but more important........Today 24 friends of my wife Amanda Hunt @bunkerhunt and myself are walking 18 miles in support of the heroes @rhnuk in Putney who are helping my wife through her rehab. Please read on.............. In April 2026 my wife Amanda Hunt @bunkerhunt underwent a critical mitral valve repair through open-heart surgery. She remained unresponsive for four days post-operation and required life support for several more. A stroke affected the right side of her brain, leading to a complete loss of function on the left side of her body.
Her recovery has been a testament to resilience and hope, supported by the incredible teams at Cromwell Hospital (Kensington), St George's (Tooting), Kingston Hospital, and now the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (Putney). These dedicated professionals have helped regain some functionality and she continues rehab every day.
As a thank you to these remarkable doctors, therapists and carers providing vital rehabilitation services, a small group of Amanda's friends are participating in a personal walking challenge—walking between all these hospitals and finally home. The walk represents Amanda's journey home - a total of 18 miles.
We are fundraising for the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability with an initial fundraising target of £1,000 (raised £10,500 so far inc gift aid) to help provide essential care and resources for people facing similar challenges. Your support can make a huge difference in their recovery journeys and recognises Amanda's own journey.
