Having spent half a lifetime dedicated to the buying, selling, tasting, judging, speaking and writing and cheeses and wines, Steve’s newest book brings a new perspective to the subject of pairing cheeses and wines from across Britain.
Steve has spent numerous days visiting cheesemakers and winemakers the length and breadth of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. From the furthest extremes of the Highlands to the far coasts of Cornwall and West Wales, from East Anglia to Northern Ireland sometimes helping with milking, cheesemaking, grape picking, winemaking or interviewing the creative geniuses behind these great products.
As a result of this extensive research, Steve has now selected his own personal top cheeses, all selected to represent and showcase the quality and diversity of artisan cheesemaking today. For each of the selected cheeses he recommends one particular artisan made English or Welsh wine as the perfect pairing partner.
